Vista preview Icon Stretched?

Normally when I save a word file in office 07, Vista seems to take a snapshot and use it as a thumbnail for the file. So most of my thumbnails look like little pices of 8 x 11 pages. Here is the bug, if I insert a small picture into the same docx file, and resave, the thumbnail looks like its been stretched into a landscape mode with pic distored. It dose not rotate, it just stretches the image. The only fix I have found so far is to uninstall office and reinstall which is not exatly a good solution. Everything will work fin for a while then out of the blue, my icons from all new saved work will be stretched out.

Already tried deleting the database didnt work just rebuilt distored. Any ideas?

I don't know if this will work, because it's not really related, but it's worth a try -- (and it's easy to do and undo). . . Right-click on your Desktop, select Personalize, and go to Desktop Background. At the bottom of the screen are three links for 1. stretching the image,
2. having multiple copies of the image on the Desktop, and 3. having the image shown at its (assumedly) normal size. Make sure # 1 is UNchecked and # 3 is checked.

(I was hoping that the My Pictures section and the Screen Saver section would have the same or similar options, but they don't seem to --- unless I'm not seeing them.)

If this works, you can go into your favorite photo editing app and increase or decrease the size of that image so it looks the way you want it to in the thumbnail. In fact, now that I think about it, even if it doesn't work, you can still try changing the size and/or shape of the image in the photo editing app!
