Webcam issue With Msn Messenger Live 2009

alright so I am having this weird issue with my msn I can't accept/receive webcams but my boyfriend can on his msn from the same computer. All that happens when I try too send or receive is it sits there for a few secs then says Video has ended can anyone help me?

simple fix will be for you to create a new user id.. then try to log in.. and see if it works
Then try to test it with your old ID.. it can be that on your boyfriend's profile setting the webcam settings are different to yours so check that as well

I made a new id & I get the same thing is there anything else I can check??

login under your boyfriend's id and check what settings he got on his profile for the webcam and compare that to you..
hmm.. you can add me on msn we can chat soemtimes.. hehe kidding..
But if your bf can use webcam on the same msn then there should definitly be a setting wrong under ur profile.. does he use a different profile name when he logs in the computer or same ?? I mean the windows profile!!

lately ive been haveing the same problem.
my contact get the invite to view...
accepts and after a few seconds it collapses..

yahoo messenger works fine..
i have reloaded messenger live


ive reloaded the drivers and gone through the preferences etc
short of reformatting my HD (shouldnt make a difference)
im at a loss for ideas

I was about to start a new topic, when I saw this... I've having the same problems...

but here's the kicker, the webcam does work with video calls! yet when I try to show only my webcam, it will show my cam for a few seconds (only on my screen), and then it'll say "webcam session ended".
And so far, it only happens with one person... I can start my webcam with other people.

so is there some kind of setting on the profile that allows video calls, but disables webcam viewing?

EDIT: she logged into an older account, and the same thing happened... could this be a router issue? Firewall perhaps?

:huh:WELL YOU THINK YOU GOT PROBLEMS,I JUST GOT A LAPTOP FOR THE FIRST AND I GOT IT FROM BEST BUY AND IVE ASKED THEM TO SHOW ME HOW TO SET UP MY WEB CAM AND THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 50.00 BUCKS!!!SO HERE I AM WITH A WEB CAM CANT EVEN USE IT BCAUSE I DONT HAVE ANY CLUE HOW TO GET STARTED ON HOW TO USE THE DAMN THING!!!CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP A BEGINNER??
