Using CD-RW media in Vista

I've found a problem using CD-RW software on an HP notebook using the Power2GO software supplied by HP.

The details can be found at Software issue?? : DVD Writers.

Have any of you run into this problem?

I could not find an update for Power2GO, version 5, at either the HP or Cyberlink web site.

When I install Win 7 as dual boot, I wonder whether the same issue will exist?

I've never found the erasable CD as floppy gimmick to be reliable. With erasable media I format them once. Then before putting files on, I do a quick erase and burn the entire disc at once as if it were a CDR or DVDR. Even then I only use that for "throw away data" like testing an audio disc or video burn. I wouldn't trust anything valuable to erasable discs. Did for awhile, until I got burned. Tried to read some source files I had burned to an erasable CD on a PC other than the one that did the writing. No go. Never again.
