I am trying to burn a ISO image from the Dell web site (DCSE). Once I copy a 0 kb file, Raxio is unable to burn a copy to cd for easier viewing ( Instead of having to print everything out). Is there a better program to use? Does it sound like I am doing something wrong?

Try using Imgburn. I don't know what you mean by "once I copy" .. are you trying to modify the image then burn it?

I can either view the "Tech diagrams for every Dell System" to either read thru or make a hard copy, Or I can d/l the ISO copy. I double click on the ISO copy and a 0 kb file is created on my desktop with the help of Raxio. I try to burn a copy to cd and nothing happens.

Ultimately, I would like to burn a copy of all the files to view without accessing the DCSE site.

I have no idea why that would be an .iso, I think it is an ISO standard file of some other extension..

Did you try opening it with a pdf reader?

How come it is 0kb?

If you provide the link to the download , we will see what kind of file it is.

It does sound kind of unusual to me. Don't know why they'd do it unless it's a large technical manual.

It says it should be a 2.1 GB file for everything. We are talking about Info on servicing and prepping Tech to take and pass 30+ Dell Certs.

In that case I think I would try mounting it with a virtual CD/DVD program such as MagicISO. That way you can look at the contents to see if it is corrupted.

If the download ends with a zero length file that indicates whatever did the download didn't finish. Usually the way they do this is create the target file and leave it at zero length. If that succeeds, the downoader creates a temp file and downloads to it. If the download completes successfully then the orginal filename is deleted and the temp file is renamed as the target filename.

The fact that the target is left at zero length tells me the download failed, is most likely the problem.

Try using a different download method if possible. Maybe a download manager or a different download manager, or get it from ftp instead of http.

Is this thing in a .zip folder that you did not unzip by any chance?
