Hi all,
Had an error when I tried to use Word 2007 (pro) help on my V64U system. I tried replacing the clview.exe file (help viewer) from another computer, no luck.
Contacted MS support, and we first deleted the office help folder and repaired the Office install, did not work. He then had me unload IE 8, saying that was definitely the issue. It was not. He then wanted me to uninstall and reinstall office. I told him I would wait till a weekday (was a weekend) to ensure a non poke and hope session.
This Monday I contacted MS support again, and although we did try some things that did not work, before we resorted to an uninstall, he tried this command at command prompt - regsrv32.exe msxlm3.dll and it worked. The dll is the xml parser and somehow got corrupted. As an important note, whenever I loaded Visio, it would go through a configuration process. This was fixed also. The only followup is the 3 parser is an early one and I think I should be on 7. However, all help and office program loads are back to normal.
Just an fyi
