Hello

Does anyone know if I can run my Artec e+ 48U Scanner with Vista, I have the original disk and driver and I have tried to install but failed.

It does say up Win 98, 2000 and ME. It connects by USB and uses TWAIN - I think.

Anyone give me any advice please?

hmm......

does the machine detect the USB plug-in device without the drivers..??

it obviously doesn't support vista, but you could try & run the driver installer in ''Compatibility mode'' for one of the OS's listed above..:)

this can be found in the ''properties'' tab of any app, right click the icon its at the bottom of the drop down list..

try that..... ;)

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, even though I have installed the driver Vista asks should it look for it. It can't seem to find it on the pc and I tried to point to it manually - to be honest not sure what it said then but it did not find the driver.

I will try that thank you.

BTW I forgot to say I ran the scanner with XP and no problem and that O/S is not on the list of the scanner's that Artec e+ 48U runs with.

Thank you for your help.

I can now see the e+ 48u icon under Scanners and Cameras, after giving permission for Vista to proceed I get a box with tabs General, Events and Color Management on the General tab is a box with Test Scanner, when I click this it says Your Imaging Device Successfully Completed the Diagnostic Test, however nothing happens when I try to scan or even copy.

I should add that I did not install Text Bridge, as I never used it before; I just used to use the scanner with PSP.

I was not able to tell Vista to run e+ 48 in compatible mode, when I click on properties I cannot move off the General tab to go to Compatibility tab.

Sorry a little more, when I hit the scan button I do get a box that says Error
Automatic Scanning could not be completed but it did not start anyway.

Are you able to help further or is it an exscanner as far as Vista is concern.

Again thank you.
