A week ago Window's Media Center started opening to the library on it's own, for no reason. When I tried to exit the program, it wouldn't close. If I was able to close it, it reopened before the window would even close, actually cascading several window's at a time. When I started it in safe mode I was able to go into msconfig and turn anything that wasn't necessary off but it made no differance. Tried system restore also to no avail. Finally, i broke down and did a complete factory restore. You can't imagine my surprise when it still did the same thing. I have never had a problem with this compter and would sure appreciate any idea's at all.

Do a power-cycle on the Remote Control. I'm adding to Clay's post.

I want you to take the Batteries out of the Remote.
Then press EVERY SINGLE BUTTON on the Remote TWICE.
Replace with NEW Batteries.

See if the issue continues. You may also want to try a power-cycle on the computer as well ( Static Electricity will do ****ed up things to electronics, as I see on a daily basis at work ) To do this on the computer, Remove Power Cable/Batteries and then Press and Hold down Power Button for 90 seconds.

Hope it resolves your issue.
