Add WMC after setup

My Vista Ultimate SP2 originally was setup from a variation slimmed by vlite. WMC was completely left out.

Now I want to add WMC, while preserving the system as it grew within 3 years. No fresh install. An installation DVD or iso image are at hand. What workaround will do the job?

Thanks for all hints and explanations.

Love to help but we have no idea what was manipulated during the vlite process so it is next to impossible to help. I would suggest a full copy form MS. Basically thats all we are able to support.

My Ultimate DVD is a full version with retail license. (The vlite iso was produced as an extract from it). Since I never installed a Service Pack nor IE 8, all requirements for a repair installation are met. However, I have no idea if a repair install would add the missing components. If yes, I would give it a try. But if it only replaces the existing selection of files and resets my settings, it would cause more trouble than do the job. Can the behavior of a repair installation be predicted?

In a clone, I found out that repair installation performs a true inplace upgrade. All default components are installed. What was left out by vlite, now was added. Thanks for the hint.
