hey guys, quick question here bout vista

well..im trying to reformatt my vista partition. Because I feel like it, and its getting a bit laggy :\
But anyways, I go and click on computer->vista drive->format->quick format-> error...unable to format.
why does this happen!
i own the computer,,,i should be able to tell it what to do!


but anyways, i think its somthing to do of the drive, like healthy or not. idk.
help appreciated :D

It's a tad silly to care about disabling UAC if you're formatting the whole drive. That's like worrying that you turned off the traction control in a car that you're going to have crushed the next day.

OK..SO..I finally got time to install xp.
Then i was like....what the freak...i dont need Vista...its laggy anyhow
So then i was like....OH WELL ima format it, and use the extra space into my xp..

I cant format it because apparently my vista drive is a system Plus ACTIVE drive...
Meaning..I cant reformat it...

Im trying to make my vista so i can format it....meaning loosing the active plus systen ranking onto my xp partittion

in short words...

I want to make my xp my system drive, and lose vista forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever!!!

  • Install Windows XP OS.
  • Search for XP Forum.

Miles' idea is the one to use. A boot disk with a partition manager program will format that drive like *snaps fingers*.
