Hi

i have been trying uninstall msn messenger beta 9 from vista ,But i didn't found it in ADD/ remove programs so just decided to delete directly from the program files , i thought this would work but now as i'm trying to install the the Msn messenger 8.5 , installation says me "version you are trying to install is older than the version you have now,". Now what do i do? i'm stuck fully that i can't uninstall and install msn messenger?
i`ve tried almost everything on internet concerning how to uninstall of msn messenger.when i try the comands to put in run.none of them work!!im really stuck please help me!!

Go to Start, copy and paste "msiexec /x {0AAA9C97-74D4-47CE-B089-0B147EF3553C}" (without quotation marks) to the start search pane and hit enter. You will be promted to remove the program. You may get a prompt that you can only remove installed programs. If so try "msiexec /x {A85FD55B-891B-4314-97A5-EA96C0BD80B5}" (again without quotation marks) and follow same steps. Otherwise, try checking the ID manually, open Regedit and go to:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live\Messenger
…copy the ID and replace the above if it isn’t the same.

I tried all the suggestions on the Microsoft/Viista forums and no success......found the above suggestion and worked perfectly......been frustrated with this for past three days and finally I have MSN Live reinstalled and working flawlessly!! Don't understand why Vista doesnt have an easier uninstall process easily available!!

thanks a lot mate.i got msn messenger back but im getting error 8007007e.that was the reason why i uninstalled msn messenger the first place!!its saying "we cant sign you in to windows live messenger" that part is in big blue letters and below it its written "signing in to windows live messenger is temporatily unavailable. please try again later" and when i click on more details it says error 8007007e
