Can't remove HP Update box from monitor

lower right corner of monitor, about a 2" square opens with HP Update and says "would you like HP Update to check for software and driver updates now?"
There is nowhere to click on the box, and it won't close and can't remove it. it also apear again after restart.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks from me too, stoneys-nutz! I used to work-around the problem by simply sliding the HP Update message-window down to the very bottom of my Taskbar, where it wouldn't interfere with anything. Eventually, it just disappeared by itself.
