Hi all

I have copied some of my super8 films to my PC and re-edited them with Movie Maker. and have used Windows DVD creator to make DVDs for friends. However one lives in the US and I am not sure how I can make a compatible DVD for him. (PAL for the UK and NTSL (?) for the US. The files I have are in either MMproject form WMV form or AVI format. My UK DVDs work fine, can anybody tell me how to proceed.
Thanks in advance.

Phil

Hi, if you burn your DVDs using Windows DVD Maker you can change the format of the DVDs from PAL to NTSC using the tutorial at Change Windows DVD Maker DVD-Video settings .

Hi Osholt

Thanks. I hadn't seen the little blue "options" at the lower right of the screen. (I have a french version of DVD maker and there are only two tabs in the normal place.....Files and Add Elements.

Thanks, should be OK now. :D

The other thing, find out from your friend if the stand-alone player can play PAL. Many stand-alones can. Every Philips player I bought can play PAL. You just have to make sure the TV display type is set to NTSC, not Auto. It's nice because it saves frame rate conversions usually. If the fps is 25 I make a PAL dvd. If it's 29.97 I make an NTSC. No audio out of sync problems.
