media center crashing

I've been trying to use media center to watch videos from a hard drive on another computer. Now, that drive is shared on the network and I can watch the videos through window explorer just fine. And I can also look through a picture folder on that computer through media center but whenever I go to the videos folder media center crashes every time.

I have a hp pavilion vista pc with a d-link router and the other computer is a hp windows xp pc.

I'm pretty sure I have all my settings right as I probably wouldn't be able to access the other drive at all.

Any help would be great.
