Whenever I click any wmplayer playable files I get a popup saying:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Tried deleting and restoring files, changing permissions, taking ownership, downloading windows media player 11. Whenever I try right clicking the shortcuts that explorer window freezes. Tried installing old version too, with no success.
my pc is virus and malware free
I even am the adimstrator

Heyy,
Something similar happened to a friends computer, it was one of thoes eee pc's. There are 2 partitions on there, one for programs and one for personal files. everytime we turned it on it had an error saying that it couldnt locate the "explorer.exe" file and there was no taskbar, couldnt even open task manager.

We had to re install windows to fix it, so that might be the case with you, not saying it is, but it sounds similar.. Unless theres another way to fix it..

Hope this helps,
Daniel =)

Daniel,
You could have gone into safe mode and tried to use cmd, or just ran cmd manually.

EEE Pcs are always weird. 2 portions of a hard drive? Seriously? :D

What a strange PC...

That would make a great commercial for Mac though!
