Hello,

I am more than happy to help with this, however, I don't really understand which splash screen you wish to change. Is this the logon screen, and remember that several stages need pictures in 16 colours, not 16 bit. If it is the boot screen (and I doubt it is), see here for all methods.Change XP Boot Screen

Hello,

I see your point about 100 computers, however, that does not necessarily mean programless. For example, for the computers that are the same, the Resource Hacker program will modify ntoskrnl.exe for one computer. You can then roll this new ntoskrnl.exe file into the Windows installer/whatever method you use for deployment(such as network install) before deployment.

For BIOS splash screen, see the very bottom of that link I gave you, its all in there!

Good luck, although remember that this is hacking and may just ruin everything. Also, be particularly careful with the BIOS one, a bad BIOS flash can be quite annoying (although modern computers with Boot Block Sectors should not be too difficult to fix)

Because this functionlity is not built into Windows, you will need to use a program, but programs before deployment are fine. Be careful not to deploy an incompatible ntoskrnl.exe!
