Sansa Clip+ MP3 Player Not Recognized

My wife just bought me a Sandisk sansa clip+ mp3 player. When we plug it in it says that device is not recognized because 4 drivers are out of date. I checked for updates on all drivers and they are all up to date. It also says to make sure that the latest version of Win Media Player is installed. I checked online and it appears that v 11 is the lastest for Vista. It's showing v. 12, but there are many users complaining that they can't get v 12 to work with Vista (only windows 7). first of all, is it really necessary to have the latest version of Media player for this device to work? I'm perfectly happy with the version I have and don't even know which version it is. When I click on properties it just says "Windows Media Player", no version information. Does anyone know what I need to do to get this device to work?

The "out of date drivers" was just some BS on the Rhapsody install disc. It took me to a site that was trying to sell me new drivers which I didn't even need. I got it all figured out now and I can upload songs using WMP or the file folders that come up when the Sansa Clip is plugged in. Thanks.
