I have a registered copy of the AVS software suite. All of the programs worked fine. Now, the Audio Converter does not open. It appears in task manager as a process but not as an application. The process is still taking up 50% of the CPU. Any way to make the window appear

It sounds as if one of the strings has become corrupted (or something along those lines), I would recommend that you reinstall the software, or alternatively (if there is an option) then you should select repair when you run the uninstaller.

Selecting repair should find the faulty files and fix (or replace) them.

I did a system restore to 1 week ago, before i even installed the programs. Strangely enough the programs were still installed!

I then uninstalled and reinstalled the software suite and the same problem still arises

there are two folders for the particular program

one contains:



the other contains



could this be to do with the problem????

Yes, that looks likely because the .exe files will try to find the extensions in the same root directory.

Try merging the two folders and then run the program. (So copy the two .exe files into the AVSAudioConverter6 folder)
