I was affected by this problem about a month ago and had just about given up on a fix, because many people were reporting the same problem, but no one had found a fix. Went to the Corel support site, and found this hotfix, which worked for me. It was in their knowledgebase under Paint Shop Pro X2, and subtopic of "freezing."
