Slide Show keeps crashing - any ideas please ?

From Windows Explorer, I click Slide Show to look at my pictures.
But sometimes when I hit ESC to come out, I often get no response, or just a blank screen.
The only way back is to CTRL-ALT-DEL and select Task Manager to stop it. Even then, in Task Manager, I sometimes have to manually restart Explorer to get back to the Desktop.

:sarc: Any ideas please ?

Thanks,
Frank.

Hi, thanks for your message.
I can do most basic things, is scannow something I run from a DOS prompt, or where do I find it ?
Thanks,
Frank.

OK, done that, it says:

Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity problems.

Next idea please !

Looks like you're using more memory intense programs than you computer can handle. Are your graphics drivers updated?

Hi Jacee,
Thanks for your message. My Toshiba laptop is about two years old, has 1 Gb of memory, and the problem even occurs when I am running nothing but Windows Explorer and SlideShow.

I do confess, I have no idea if my drivers are updated. Is this something that needs to be done separately from the regular Windows updates ?

If so, I would appreciate any knowledge and wisdom you can offer on the subject.

Thanks,
Frank.
