I have loaded office 2007 on my vista. When I go to open 'word or excel' the blue box comes up as if installing again ans say configuring. It does this everytime I want to use either one of them! The res are OK, anyone know why that happens?

Your download may have been corrupted. Any chance you can uninstall Office and re-download it?

The following article goes through the manual uninstallation process. Included in there are sections addressing installer packages and installation programs which is where I'd like to draw your attention. If you focus just on these areas (we're not trying to fully uninstall the product but just the parts that might be causing this problem) you may be able to eliminate the problem. Here's the article: How to manually uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature.

Ive unistalled the programme about 3 times now. Ive also clicked repair then with that failing I had a look at the link Lorien sent but that said only change it manually if I couldn't do it automatically. I went into the change and clicked on all the + signs to open them up and found about 5 red crosses so I changed them to run from my pc but even now when I want to use word or excel it starts of with configuring it. It never used to do this. Please send me some more helpfull tips!!!

In that case, Joyz, I'm wondering if the source you're downloading from is corrupt or damaged. Are you downloading from a CD? Are you able to download using a different source?

Yes it's a cd. What happened is...I had to take my laptop back to factory settings so I've had to load it on again, but this configuation thing keeps happening now. It was OK before restoring the laptop.
