hello, everyone. very glad you folks are here. want to say from the beginning, that i am relatively inexperienced, so that if this question has been asked and answered, i did not understand it. (i have looked at the archives to see.)

my problem is windows installer. whenever i open a program (word, powerpoint, opera, etc.), windows installer attempts to install adobe acrobat 7.1.1 professional. since i have had problems updating my software from adobe, and since windows trying to install it everytime i open a program is such a pain (i cancel it every time, but if i don't do it fast enough, it repeats the process), i have deleted the adobe acrobat program. However, windows installer STILL tries to install it!

I then went to the registry to try to stop it (based upon my VERY limited understanding of the registry) and changed the digit from '1' to '0'. that didn't work, either.

Can anyone please tell me what i must do to STOP windows installer?
