I want to be able to plug a device into a USB port on my PC, then plug into the TV via either USB, HDMI, or even RCA to watch movies in AVI format. Is there any such device? If so what is it called, how much do they usually go for, and where can I get my hands on it?!
With most tools and gadgets out there, surely such a device exists where you can point it to a folder or a drive with media content on it? My father has a 'streamer' that has its own menu and you tune to it on the TV, then navigate to a file on a USB HDD, but to save the hassle from transferring to a drive when I download something new I want it to be able to be accessible all the time and straight away.
