Hi
I am trying to install Solidworks 08 on my laptop which runs vista 64 bit. The solidworks 08 is actually a 32 bit program but I thought I would be able to install it anyway since there is a program files (x86) folder which I assume is for the programs which are 32 bit.
When I run the installation it says that it can't be installed on a 64 bit machine running vista.
Any ways of getting around this problem?
I am sure there is
Thanks

Wonder if the following makes any sense to you.
I am completely ignorant in SolidWorks, but I dug this one up from the net.

Had Problems Installing Solidworks in Vista 64-bit
Excerpt :
Download and extract as usual but before you click the EXE to install, right click on it, goto properties, and set it to XP SP2 compatibility mode. Now it will run. When its getting ready to install, it will ask you if you want to install a new x64 update. Allow it to install the update which will redownload the entire ~2GB file. Now let that install and it will work just fine.

Don't hold me for that. I am just a messenger. :D
