Live TV crashing

Live TV works fine except when watching any king of sporting event. Whether it's an NBA game, NFL, college football, you name it, whenever a commercial comes on it freezes up and I have to restart. The window ' Windows Media Center has stopped working' appears. The details are:

Hello xmrdjx and welcome to the forums

Can you try this for me please?

SFC Scan:

1. Open the start menu
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. Right click on command prompt and select Run as administrator
4. In command prompt, type:

sfc /scannow

5. Let it run and let me know if it finds any Integrity Violations

Thanks,

Tom

I did that. It said there were corrupt files and to view in windows/logs/CBS folder. I found access denied. I tried as administrator...still denied. Watching a sports channel I hadn't watched before got the same freeze when they broke for a commercial:

Can you do this for me please?

View Installed Programs

1. Open the start menu
2. In the search box, type appwiz.cpl and open it

And on this list you will (or should) see an entry called Microsoft .NET Framework, what is the version number next to it?

I know this is slightly repeating the SFC scan, but I want it to be run again, so that I can see a comparison between first and second runs, and to confirm whether files have actually been repaired, etc. etc.

Right, please run steps 1, 2A, 3 (about 15 minutes), 4, 5, and then Step 1 from the top yellow box, but only follow this last one if Integrity Violations were found. Please upload the new sfcdetails.txt from your Desktop. System Files - SFC Command

The bold bit will also produce a report for you, and *should* get around the Access Denied message.

Thanks!

Richard

It looks like there are two:

I will also repeat the other instructions later today when I have a chance. Thanks

I got this result. These are the ones that said cannot repair. Sorry I couldn't see where to simply copy the sfc details file. This is a copy and paste of just the so called bad ones. They should look better recopied and pasted to notepad.

Well, I've watched the entire third quarter of the Cowboy-Saints with no stoppage! Thanks for your great support!!!!!

Just for future reference to people who may also be experiencing your problem, what did you do that fixed it?

Was it the SFC Scan?
Was it the .NET Framework installation?

Thanks, and I'm glad to hear that the problem has been solved :)
