Sync files against SBS 2008

Microsoft Office offers through Windows Live, Windows live Mesh that gives you 5 GB of free space that is available through web and computers where Mesh is installed.

Is there any other similar solution that can work directly against the the SBS server? I don't want to store the files directly on the server, it needs to be stored localy as well. The best product i know to do this, is Dropbox.com, but it only gives you 2 GB. Sync against the servers would be the best.

Anyone?

Hi,

I have limited experience on this subject but how global do you need the service to be?

What price are you prepared to pay (Don't need an answer, just asking) as this will decide where you go.

Dropbox.com = 100GIG for $20 per month for a global access, I guess.

If you are talking a local service/ office need then perhaps you could build a file server for your network! Which, again will cost money & time to establish.

Configuring all your PC's could be done I'm sure & you could find some excellent advice round here?

So, what kind of a service do you want to establish or do you need, global or local?

Hi! We are using Windows Small Business Server today, and the files we are using, are stored there. We can access theese with VPN, or via Terminal Server. But sometimes, you just need to have the files stored localy, and some of the workstations are only using email through http, witch means that they dont access the LAN. Dropbox and Live Mesh is synchronizing against a web server. When the workstation is accessing the nettwork, the files are synchronized. I want to sync against our servers to have full controll, and free storage. VPN is not allways possible when you are using some lans because of open ports.

As far as I know, Skydrive is storing the files on the Microsofts servers, if possible, I want to store it on our own SBS 2008 servers - without having the users to log in through VPN. Just like Skydrive, but against our own servers.

Thanks for your reply. What I'm looking for, is not an external web service, but a way to sync directly against our own servers. That means that instead of using the servers that is owned by other suppliers, I want to sync against our Small Business Servers. Just like "off-line folders" in Windows - but synced against the server without using vpn.
