Installing Microsoft Money 2004

Don't laugh!

I'm helping a friend install Money 2004 on his laptop which uses Vista. I know they are compatible because I found a discussion on the subject.

It seemed to install just fine, but didn't show up in the desktop or in All Programs, even if I search for it.

Also looking in the Program Files, I find the folder but don't find a .exe file. I think in the past I have clicked on .exe files for software to start it running.

Microsoft Works 7.0
Microsoft Money 2004

With Money 2004, it says there is a paid upgrade. Are you suggesting it will work if he buys the upgrade?

But when I click on the link for the upgrade, I just get a page of text. No upgrade to buy?

I used the Microsoft Compatibility Center and found that your edition of Money is not compatible without and upgrade
I also know that Money is no longer sold or supported.
Money Plus is the upgrade and I found this

Sorry that it did not turn out the way that you wanted.
Just so you know, I have Money 2002 and it does not work. I can load it and use it, but then as soon as I boot it loses all the entries that I put in.
