I am running Windows Vista Home Edition. My Windows Media Center no longer works. It worked when I went to bed, and next day it would not load. I am not trying to download anything or install anything. Just trying to find answers. And I am not an expert at this, so be nice.

OK, Lets see what is going on.
First you could try system restore.Start menu, all programs, accessories, system tools
system restore.

If that fails
Go to start search and type cmd
Hold the shift and ctrl buttons down and press enter
In the box that opens type sfc /scannow
Note the space before/
After the scan has finished it will tell you if it was able to repair your system files
If not restart your computer and run the scan again.
