Solved Audio-video not synch

Almost always, (NOT ALWAYS), when I fast forward web video playback, video and audio do not synchronize...often audio is delayed by seconds. Not sure, but I think this is a recent development with updated Flash Player. Old versions are no longer downloadable.

Any suggestion?

The obvious questions first.
Have you checked in Device Manager to make sure all your drivers, video card, etc is up to date?
There are no little yellow warning signs that indicate problems?
Did this problem only start after you downloaded Flash Player, or could it have been present before???
What version of FP id you have, what version did you update to?

How recent is it, a few days?

It's been a while since I visited mature adult sites...where this video playback audio/video synchronization
mismatch happens. Other Video playbacks (on Media Center, HP quickplay, Sidereel and TV channel sites and IE 8 browsers' Fox sports and MSN News Videos) are totally normal even those using FP. Is it possible it's the adult site problem and not my PC or FP?

I am always using the most current updated FP because I had it set up on auto-updating mode. That means I was auto updated from the previous version which happened in February...but I did not notice this new prob in synch until just a few days ago. I do not remember ever having this prob before.

All my drivers were recently routinely checked and up-dated.

If it has only literally a few days this has been happening?
Or it is only in the last few days it has been noticed?
I was just considering the possibility of a System Restore to a time before this problem appeared?
Have you any restore points?
Does the same instance occur on a number of sites or a particular one?

If your thinking of doing a system restore to correct the problem you need to go back at least 5 days before the problem started. Here is a tutorial that will guide you.

The first time I noticed the prob, I did system restore with the earliest restore point, to no avail. I did sfc scannow and dskchk scan for error, memory and hard drive diagnostics, and defrag...all to no avail. Since then I have had at least 2 runs of anti-virus full scan with MSE(which I do routinely...twice a week) and two with MBAM.

Maybe as a result of all these maintenance measures my system is faster and glitch-free except for this synchronization prob(which I have to repeat, happens only on some(NOT ALL) adult website video payback.

Hello TYPO can you tell us about any current error's in the event viewer. Maybe when this glich happens go the event viewer and see if there is any thing that would be around the times of the events them selves. But we are still looking into it for you.

The event viewer shows 3245 errors and I cannot id an error about playback. I'm afraid it is too advance for me. Any clue what to look for?

Hello and yes go one day at a time. When you go into your event viewer start at the top and double click any error and then a box will appear and at the bottom of the box that pops up you will see some blue words click on it and it will take you to the error site and read up on that error and most times it will tell you how to correct the error. It is pretty easy plus you don't have to follow the advice, you can now go back and click on another error and do the same thing. Also write the error down and you can go search the net and find different answers. It is always better to use micorsoft sites for the errors. Some of the errors I get is because I have turned certain things off in my system so they mean nothing. Try it and you will learn more about your computer.

Took me all night. Tediously. And nearly painfully.

Errors were recorded right from the first day of use.....four years ago. Most recent ones were repetitious harmless daily procedures that I did not know were considered errors (like removing TV tuner). Anyway, I did not see any error that is video playback related.

I will never visit event viewer. Everything there looks Greek to me. I wonder how much HD/memory space it occupies. Hmmm.....can it be deleted?

I dunno what happened. I did not do anything but I have no more glitch. This audio/video synch prob is over. This thread may be checked RESOLVED.

Who does that?

You can Mark it as solved as well Tom, just click on the report button next to the scales and type "solved" in the box ;-)
