RE : Smileys from sweetim.com

My problem :
I have no problem downloading and installing sweetim.exe.
Trouble is ..... the smiley toolbar is not shown on Internet Explorer or my Hotmail.
In short, although I was told that installation was successful, I had no way to use the smileys becuase there was no smiley toolbar.

This is what I was supposed to have in my IE .........

What is my problem ?

Yes, add-ons were enabled.
In fact I just finished installing then uninstalling ( for the 6th times ) the smileys.
No toolbar.

Now I am pissed ......... ha ha ha ha.

Incidentally, when I went to Features and Programs and uninstalled the SweetIM, there were 2 entries. One of them said something like sweetim toolbar for Internet 4.1
What's Internet 4.1 ?

Anyway, I give up.

That base is more or less covered.

I, out of desparation and infuriation, uninstalled IE9 and went back to IE8 yesterday.
Then I installed sweetim. No smileys toolbar either.
When I had my smileys going, I was on IE8.
Somehow, I changed something and now I can have smileys installed anymore.
