Running Word 2003 on Vista Home Premium 32.
Printing to a network-based printer shared from another Vista Home Premium 32 machine.
Recently re-installed the OS, and Office 2003. Not a complete format/install, just a fresh installation over the previous installation.
Installed all the necessary drivers on the Dell Inspiron 1525.
When printing to the HP LaserJet 2300 when it is installed locally, performance is normal.
However, when printing to the network printer, there is a significant delay before the dialog box comes up, and then another significant delay before the printer begins printing.
I have noted a significant spike in network traffic when the printer is invoked, as if the driver is being downloaded each time it is called.
Is this the case?
Can it be rectified?
What other options/recommendations?
