I was about to download the book-reader software Kindle offer for the pc, when a strong warning message appeared; "Warning, this software is not commonly downloaded and may harm your computer".

Does anyone know if there are actually any issues with this software?
My pc has Vista ultimate installed.

Thanks guys.

So long as you download it directly from Amazon, and scan it with your Anti-virus prior to running it, it should be fine.
The warning is there because it's an executable file, and reasonably new, so hasn't acquired a history which would allow it to be accepted by the browser's checking system.

ALL executable file downloads should be scanned before use (with an up-to-date AV!) to reduce the chances of infected file compromising the sytem.
