I've got a lot of work to do now (partial differential equations are killing me!), but if you can wait until the weekend, I can look into where this information is stored? I don't know of an app to do this, but it must be possible manually :)

They must have changed something from Vista to W7 or else the programmers that did the W7 one would say it works on Vista. It's just frustrating Vista won't seem to hold settings.

btw if they are partial differential equations doesn't that mean you can turn them in uncompleted? Hey professor. You said deze is partial anywayz!!

btw I looked around in the W7 registry and it sticks stuff in the NavPane using a key with some stuff about "PinTo" whatever.. I suspect that's why the W7 customizer utility won't work with Vista. Vista doesn't have the Pin mechanism(at least that's my theory for now.) :)

No biggie. I found a compromise that seems to be working. If I totally collapse the Folders section of the NavPane, then set for All Folders, after a time the thing pops up expanded again. But I tried dragging the bar down half way. It seems to be holding up for 4 or 5 days now.
