Can't open kgb archiver files with 7zip?

I compressed some files with kgb archiver that ends with .kgb and then try to open it with 7zip,somehow it seems not possible to open.

I guess nobody responded because this isn't a Vista problem. However, from what I've read, when you compress with kgb, you can specify either kgb or zip. It appears that you specified kgb so that's what you'll have to decompress the file with.

7-Zip can decompress many file formats but KGB is NOT one of them. At the present time only the KGB program can do that. The compression level is very good but for whatever reason it never became very popular.

Yeah wither3 I compress the .iso file to kbg, but is not possible to open the kbg files with windows 7 built-in zip program.

yeah I wonder why also is not so popular, is because the time consuming to compress the file may be?

I use 7-zip for most things but the built-in one usually does for me. I've never encountered that particular extension before actually. At one time I had 4 different apps installed just for that particular purpose. It all depends on what you need I

As I said earlier, you'll need to decompress the .kbg files with the kbg program. I doubt it will slow your system down. Programs slow down a system if they're started during bootup such that they're running in the background all the time. You can change which programs start at bootup.
