DAEMON Tools not working

I installed the 64 bit version of DAEMON Tools (the 32 bit version won't even install), and it gives me this error when I try to run it that says:

Initialization error 7.
This program requires at least Windows 2000 with SPTD 1.37 or higher.
Kernel debugger must be deactivated.

What are they talking about? I'm using Vista x64, and this is the Vista x64 version. What is the kernel debugger, and how do I deactivate it (and do I even want to)?

I'm not sure what happened, but even though it claimed to have finished installing, there was no DAEMON Tools folder in program files. So I went through and installed it again, carefully watching its progress this time, and now its working.

Thanks for the help anway, fellas.

I thought it was actually causing a problem in my system when I attempted to install it, so when I re-imaged I didn't try again.

I'll have to now since I found out what the actual issue was.

erdemc. you installed into program files or program files(x86)?
mine installed into (x86) folder and tasm manager says its *32 bit...

Mine is installed on the program files(x86) too but the important thing is SPTD1.50 driver. x86 and x64 deamon tools applications are the same. SPTD1.50 drivers are different. did setup ask you to install this driver and restart? if it didnt deamon wont start emulator. But you can try this

1. Uninstall deamon tools
2. download SPTD1.50 driver and install (it will probably ask to restart, do it)
here is the link: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download/SPTDinst-v150-x64.exe
3.Then install deamon tools again.
