    Hi Overclock2much,

You might see if reinstalling Adobe Reader may help.

    Thx Brink,
    I tried 3 - 4 times w/ that reader 9. Just doesn't like 9 for some reason.
So what I did was just uninstall 9 & install 8.1.3. No probs. Wifey is happy, thats all I care about.

I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted out. If it acts up on you again, then you might consider using the free program Foxit Reader instead.

Re: Latest Version of Adobe Reader

Are there any issues I should be aware of with reader plug-in and Vista x64? Some of my school books are in secure pdf files and open via IE6 using the adobe plug-in. I know that Vista x64 comes with both an x32 and x64 version of IE and just want to make sure I won't have any problems accessing the book pdf's once I switch over to V64.

I know the files are secured and I had to install a program called Oracle IRM to unseal them on my XP system but want to make sure all will be okay once I make the OS change

    Hello Bratboy,

The 64-bit Vista has a 32-bit and 64-bit version of IE7 included. It uses the 32-bit IE7 by default though, so there should not be any problems installing and using Adobe Flash Player since there is currently no 64-bit Flash player add-on version for the 64-bit IE7.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Re: Latest Version of Adobe Reader

I've been playing around a bit and must say the x64 version of IE seems a tad zippier. Only problem is is there a x64 plugin or oddon that will allow viewing pdfs in a browser window. Adobe Reader works fine as a plug in with the 32 bit version but when I try to open a pdf in the x64 browser it insists on opening the pdf in a seperate program

    Hi Bratboy,

Sorry, but there is no 64-bit IE add-on for the Adobe Reader. The PDF file has to be saved and opened seperately with Adobe Reader instead.

You can run the 32-bit IE in the 64-bit Vista to have it open inside IE though.

    Hello ElBeasto,

Sometimes you can fix this by changing the shortcut's icon to it's default icon a few times.

Shortcut Folder or File Icon Change

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
