    Music player for x64

I'm looking for a music player that works with x64. I prefer musicplayer that i can brows all my music files with. Anyone knows a good stable one?

    Re: Music player for x64

What you need to do is tell Vista to use the x64 version of Media Player. Instructions on how to do this : Switch, Change or Set 64-Bit Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) in Windows Vista x64 as Default » My Digital Life

In order to achieve best results though, you'll need to find x64 codecs also.

And before you say MP is not good enough, just bear in mind that I've thrown a music library at MP11V that exceeds 67,000 tracks, and to date it's the only media application that I've seen that can handle a library that size without choking.

    Re: Music player for x64

thx for the replys, ill try running MP11 with x64 sounds really good.

But I came across Media Monkey's v3 that should work in vista and it seems to be the program i have been looking for, but it's still in Alpha stage so it's not that stable.. I think it was that wish coused 2 BSOD's for me, or maybe Comodo's beta im running :/

I think I'll try MP11 x64 until they releases a stable media monkey version for vista x64.

Thx alot for your advise dzomlija and Asky

I probably have very different opinion on this.
ALL of this is solely my own opinion, so no offense pls

WMP11 is crap as hell. For me, it has only one purpose - testing compatibility with DS filters. Nothing else. This "software" will just not play almost anything out of the box. So, if u want MP4, MOV, OGM or Matroska or whatever container it is except for .avi and .mpg, u can happily install at least ffdshow, but also splitters for different containers, eg. haali. Not even the most basic features are supported, like AR change, at least some types of subs etc. That's for video.

Audio is aslo very good... wav, mp3 and wma. Great. So again, ffdshow with combination of aac DS filter ('cos ffdshow has aac support only for aac in other media container, eg. avi), same for vorbis etc. Hmm.

Media library. Is there anything like that in wmp? Really? If you have just mp3 and wma, then ok. But forget about anything else. After installing all necessary filters, you can have other types too, but not in corresponing categories, 'cos WMP will not understand that eg. .ogg is audio when it comes to the library.

My A/V setup is as follows:

All video and A/V shoutcast: VLC
    All audio: Foobar2000

That's it. No filters, no hassle, great usability.

Sorry for maybe a lil bit harsh sounding post, but do you ppl REALLY want to use WMP, or are you a bit forced to do so?

For me - no WMP ever
