This happned out of no where!

One day when i turned my computer on i started getting problems

Ati catalyst control center did not open nor did asus prob.

Then i looked at properties on MyComputer and this is what i got

can any one explain why this happened?

it stop displaying this information...

lol dude...that is weird...make sure u update your ASUS bios with the cd or online...and make sure you got the latest updates for your Harddrive

yeah i updated every thing because i though that was the problem to but then, still i get the same problems.. its really wired...

The miracle cure...

I'd go for the magic silver bullet - reinstall! I'm surprised how quick Vista reinstall really is!

For weirdo and unexplained problems the reinstall seems to solve a considerable amount of problems.

yeah i really don't want to reinstall i have a lot of stuff on this computer but i am trying the sfc /scannow..


EDIT: It said "did not find any integrity problems"
EDIT 2: now i am trying to download all the hot fixes from the Microsoft web-site

I had the Catalyst problem once. Restarted the computer, and it worked fine again. I think it was a burp with a different driver install, since that's what led to the restart that caused it.

For what it's worth.

I tried to restart and every thing..

i just reset my setting in the bios for the motherbored but still same problem..


EDIT: Should i update my BIOS.. well i would but i kinda dont know how i have a P5L-MX mother bored from asus.. can any one help

Dharmil.

Instead of doing a complete clean reinstall, you might try doing a Repair Install. This will allow you to repair your Vista installation without loosing your files, settings, and programs. Hopefull, it will solve your problem and save you from doing a clean install.

You should not lose any data at all. Just to be safe, I would still backup anything you do want to lose just in case something goes wrong.

yeah i tried to upgrade by booting from cd but it said do it when logged in to windows.. so i am doing it.. it really takes long it says it will take hours but thanks a lot brink.

my first attempt to upgrade failed..
it got to the last steps and it failed i got a message saying some thing i forgot but yeah it failed..
