Vista Software and Hardware Compatibility

Can anyone tell me if the old version 7 of Paint Shop Pro can still be used with Vista Premium? I don't need it often, but it seems a shame to have to pony up for a new program if it's not necessary.
:o

Also, I have been unsuccessful in making my old, but perfectly functional, ScanJet 5300C work with Vista. Are there downloadable drivers available to accomplish this? Thanks for any help you can share with me.

I installed PaintShop Pro 7 and have been using it extensively for about two weeks. So far, no conflicts at all with Vista, running as it should.
