I need help with X-Fi E. Music on Vista x86

I have a Vista x86 and the X-fi is causing me great trouble. It works very fine in the windows environment as soon as I start any game ( D3D Applications ) the performance of the PC hits the ground. I did a simple test by disabling the audio device and the performance came back to life.
My PC has:-
3 Ghz P4 CPU
2GB ram
500 GB storage
8800GTS
ASUS Intel 945 PCIX MB. P5PL2
X-fi Extreme Music

Please Help me

Have you installed the latest drivers and Alchemy?

Re: I need help with X-Fi E. Music on Vista x86

Are you trying to point it to unsupported games? If it is an OpenAL game, for example, it doesn't need the Alchemy support and (if I understand this right), the game would be confused if it had that support. For a list of those games, try: OpenAL - Titles

Alchemy should be able to find most of the games that require its services. Is there one in particular that is problematic?

I had the same problem for a while....e-mail one of the support guys and they'll show you the right drivers for x86 (they're somewhat hidden....)
