Prelude & Vista X64

Having bought a new computer, I recently upgraded from XP 32 bits to Vista 64 bits. On XP 32 bits, the sound was awesome, but on vista 64 bits... IT SOUNDS LIKE CRAP!

It's like if I had 10$ speakers with no sound card. I'm using optical with the latest Auzentech drivers with Creative alchemy and Ive set my speakers to 5.1.

When I change settings in the Auzentech control panel, it doesn't get any better. I can enable X-Fi Crystalizer, change the equalizer to vocals, rock, anything, it doesn't make any difference.

How can I fix that?!

Re: Prelude & Vista X64

Cant help personally but have a look in the soundcards section of Guru3d.com. Loads of posters have the Prelude and are very fluent in using it. I have the Auzentech XMeridian and its superb for Music and Movies.

Mine sounds great. Have you downloaded and applied the patch from Azun? If not here's a link:

Hope that helps

I'm having trouble with my Prelude too. When i set the master sampling rate to 44.1khz itunes and winamp wont play anything. I have to set it to 48khz.

Re: Prelude & Vista X64

Thought i'd bump this because the new rc4 drivers for the Prelude are out at Auzentech's site. They have the dolby digital live stuff people have been waiting for. I just installed them, so I haven't had time to mess around with them yet.

Re: Prelude & Vista X64

Ive decided to take the plunge now that they have sorted the digital out. I missed the full EAX as I have just started back online gaming and without that EAX Im getting my ass whipped bigtime in 2142. Amazing the difference it makes to hear where you enemy is and bump him off....I want that back!
