Can't get my microphone working

I can't get my microphone to work on my X-Fi Soundblaster Xtreme Gamer card. I went to the configurator, which doesn't pick up my mic, and I tried tooling around with the control panel, but to no avail. I know the mic is fine since it works with my XP box. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tested it with the Windows configurator, Teamspeak, and the recording program built into the software console that comes with the sound card.

Do you have it set as your default recording device? I had to do this in order to be able to use communications in Vent and Source at the same time. I also deselected an option that allows a program to take complete control.

Where are you plugged into? If you are plugged into the front of your computer box, double check that you've got the plugs from that in the sound card correctly.

I'm plugged into my sound card, for which I'm pretty sure the connections are fine since my speakers and such work through it. And the microphone is set to default.
