Hi - my audio drivers are installed and up to date according to Microsoft. I still get an error message that says there is no audio device installed. I once had audio - then, poof! What is the procedure to install an audio device? Where is the information stored and where is the installation done?

It's probably best to start with knowing what hardware you have. Is it a pre-made computer or a home-built PC? Do you know if you have onboard Sound or if you're using a sound card?

i'm having the exact same problem with realtek high definition audio. There was sound yesterday but today I get nothing.

I have had my computer in for a service and it has come back minus sound. I don't want to return it back to the shop as it has already cost a small fortune. Will I be able to find a program and add it myself? I am computer literate but not a 'buff'.
