| Vista Home Premium | Realtek jack detetion issues and no sound I found these forums while I was looking for a solution to my problem so hopefully one of you guys can help out some. I'm getting no sound out of my speakers(2.1), when I plug them into the green jack on the rear panel it says that I have plugged in the pink and black jacks, but neither of those are plugged in. I've spent hours on the phone with HP and looking on the internet but i can't find any solutions. I've updated every possible driver. Every now and then I can somehow get sound by messing with settings and restarting or doing a power drain or a million other things, but as soon as I restart the computer they aren't working again, and the same solution never seems to work twice. Also, when the sound does work, it still says the black and pink are plugged in. No sound from the head phone jack on the front panel either. I hope somebody knows what the hell is going on. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Realtek jack detetion issues and no sound I am having the same issue here. I have Home Premium x64 on a nVidia nForce 680i mobo with Realtek HD audio. I have the R1.86 patch installed. After I finish installing the patch, my 2.1 speakers work fine, but as soon as I restart the speakers are not detected. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, reinstalling with vista's compatibility mode reinstall option, but no joy. It only works the one time before I restart. The Audio Devices panel shows the speakers are not found: ![]() Any help with this would be much appreciated. EDIT: After looking a little more I found this post: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-hardware-devices/62726-realtek-high-definition-audio-problem.html This solves the problem. | Vista Home Premium | Re: Realtek jack detetion issues and no sound i can't figure out how to get the jack detection to work right but i did figure out how to get sound. i have to unplug the speaker from the back and plug into the headphone jack in the front, then plug it into the back again. after that they work perfectly until i restart and i just do it again. hope that works for you. |
