Vista - I cannot connect my headset and microphone to use with msn

I bought a headset complete with microphone to use for msn video calling to my mum in australia. My webcam works but i cannot hear or speak to her. I can hear my music through WMP through the headset. Please help, thanks xxx

I had the same trouble and even purchased a more up to date camera with buiit in microphone, could record and play back video with sound but had the little yellow marker in the hardware manager. I even downloaded the up to date software from the manufactures website - no difference -so I removed all the software for the camera unplugged the camera and did not reinstall from the disc - I went in to the manufactures site and redownoaded the exact update that I had taken down after installing the disc that came with it and set up as prompted - camera to the usb etc and it installed and I have it working perfectly. Running Vista ultimate 32 bit -

OK. What headset make is it? Did it come with any driver CD? Have you tried to set it up? You need to set it up properly in Windows to use it.

Go to Help and Support in the Start menu and type in something like: Setting up a Microphone.
