Vista Speech Recognition: Not working with USB Mic!

Hi, I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit, along with a Dell SP2008WFP monitor, which comes included with a webcam and an array microphone, both connected via single USB cable.

I can record my voice using the Sound Recorder with the array microphone and there is movement of the mini-equalizer in the Sound Dialog-Recording Tab under the USB Microphone, so it is functional. Maybe a bit too sensitive, but it works.

Now, when I go to set up Speech Recognition and recite the sentence, the bar moves very erratically, not at all in cue with my voice. I have a 3.5mm microphone in which it works perfectly, though.

Does Speech Recognition not work with USB Microphones? Is it too sensitive? Is it picking up echoes? I've tried turning off the speakers to no avail.

If anyone has any help, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

P.S. Great forums, btw.
