Quick Vista x64 Realtek HD sound question

New Vista user here. I've recently upgraded my pc to Vista x64 and have a question regarding my new Realtek HD sound chip, ALC889A. When in games, should I set audio to hardware or software processing? Also, should I always disable EAX? I'm assuming I have to enable DTS Connect for 5.1 in games and programs.

Thanks!

Re: Quick Vista x64 Realtek HD sound question

Providing that you have no problems with the audio when playing games, I would leave it to use hardware processing with EAX enabled. Only change the settings if a particular game doesn't work correctly.

Re: Quick Vista x64 Realtek HD sound question

Thanks!

The only other issue that I'm having is DTS Connect rear speakers are barely audible. Anyone know a fix to increase their volume?
