Vista - Vista Sound Is'nt Working!! pls help!!

A month ago my laptop crashed , and I brought it to the store, and now they fixed it but 2 weeks ago I noticed there's no sound anymore

When I play my song, I click on the sound icon, and it shows there is sound,
( my speakers are default)but I can't hear a thing!
I also checked if something was on mute. Nothing is muted
I also plugged in external speakers and a headphone,
and I still couldn't hear sound.

my operating system is vista premium.
pls help! I need my sound!

It's possible they didn;t install your sound card drivers...locate on the manufacturers website and install latest.

I'm 90% sure that you have the wrong option selected
in my settings i don't have any speakers selected
only the amplifier/mixer symbol is selected
although i am using optical

sorry for the jummping but i got the same problem
i dont have leptop but my sound just stop working
ireinstall the drivers and i check all connections and sound setting its seems to be death , and when i am plug the speakers its noticed it but no sound apears anyone can help me?
