Static Coming From Speakers

I am sorry in advance if this has already been answered.

When i plug my headphones in i hear static, you can not notice it once the music is playing, but it gets really annoying really fast.

I dont know what to do. I have my speakers hooked up to a Turtle Beach Montego DDL. I couldnt find any X64 bit drivers for this card, so i figured there had to be other drivers that had the same chipset......I was right. So i have different drivers for the card.

I need help , Please Help!

Thanks,
Aaron

Hey Aaron,

It might be your headphones but if your using a different driver to your normal one thats also a huge factor that might be causing it.

Since there not the proper drivers there is only one thing you can try...

Go into Vista's Control Panel and open the Sound applet
Select your output device in the list that appears
NOTE: the default output device is commonly labeled Speakers
Right click on the device and from the context menu click Properties.
Click on the Enhancements TAB.
Then CHECK the box [x] for Disable all enhancements.

Re: Static Coming From Speakers

I am assuming that those are 1/8th inch jacks, right? No offense, but why are you pretty sure they are spic and span? the wrong conductive fiber in the jack and you'll get stack all day long....

But if they are clean, then perhaps you should look back about that time and see if perhaps Windows Update changed the installed driver on you?
