| vista home 32 bit | integrated sound card problem OK so my computer is a hp pavilion a1230n and when i upgraded it to windows vista, the sound card suddenly stopped working! i looked around, and my sound card doesn't seem to have any drivers for windows vista. i looked at the model, and i think this is it :integrated ati radeon xpress 200. my device manager says no device has been installed, but it's there because it was working with windows xp. i was wondering if there's any way i could update it or something. please comment! help would be much apreaciated (couldn't remember how to spell lol) |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: integrated sound card problem Hi armageddan and welcome to the forums ![]() According to the HP website, your sound/audio solution is of the AC'97 type. You can obtain generic drivers for this from the hardware manufacturers - in this case it will probably be Realtek (link given below). To verify that this is the case, you will need to look in 'Device Manager'. Click the start orb and type 'Device Manager' into the search box and press enter/return. Click to expand the category 'Sound, video and game controllers' as shown below (this is from my system). If it shows as being a Realtek device then follow the link below, otherwise reply with this information so that we can locate a suitable driver for you. Dwarf ![]() Realtek |

Post the same screen shot as dwarf posted for your system. Not a screen shot of the entire desktop - just that one window.
