Vista realtek manager pop ups

I got a new pc a day ago & I am facing an annoying problem regarding realtek audio. The problem is that whenever I play any game at max volume(with my headphone connected), the audio playback becomes distorted & after a sec, the realtek HD manager pops up saying 'A new audio jack has been plugged'. Not only this, the HD manager keeps popping until I quit that game. This also occurs while listening to any song or watching any video. I have installed the most latest realtek drivers(v 1.99)+chipset drivers+graphic drivers from scratch but the problem still remains. Here's my config:

GA-P35-S3G motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E4600
2GB RAM 800Mhz
Palit 9600GT 512MB
AOC 917x monitor
Seagate 500GB hard disk
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

Pls guys any suggestions ?

I have tried the R2.00 version driver & still hasn't solved my problem.

Disabling doesn't help at all cos while watching movies I can still hear the sound stuttering. Also while playing games(ex Halo 2), the sound sometimes becomes distorted & then puff...no sound at all. I then have to unplug & re-plug the headphone wire to make it work again.

Re: Vista realtek manager pop ups

Have you tried disabling any programs that use the Internet / network a lot when doing this?

Re: Vista realtek manager pop ups

Well I don't use any network or download managers while playing games or watching movies. So dat counts it out. I hope I am able to solve this problem soon. Its driving me crazy now.

Re: Vista realtek manager pop ups

I also read in another thread that setting your BIOS to use AHCI versus IDE causes massive slowdowns in audio as well - could this be applicable to you?

Re: Vista realtek manager pop ups

Another cause might be your headphones have you tried a different set, might be a bad connection that would explain the distortion and sound manager thinking that a new audio jack has been plugged in.

I searched for this setting in the CMOS but couldn't find anything like u have mentioned. If you can elaborate it a bit, then it would be better for me to search for such setting again in the CMOS.

The headphones were working fine the last time I checked on my previous PC. This problem has been since I got my new PC. One more thing, I have also noticed that when such pop-ups occur, the Microphone tab vanishes from the Realtek HD manager. Only the Digital Output & Speakers tabs remain. The Microphone tab doesn't apppears even after re-plugging the headphone jacks. Still, I will check my headphones on my friend's PC to find out if my headphones have gone bad.

Re: Vista realtek manager pop ups

I would almost bet on it - I bet that the wires have broken in your headset, and it keeps connecting and disconnecting.
